What your visit looks like
You'll be seen by staff. A pregnancy test comes first, and you get the result in the room.
If it's positive, an ultrasound confirms two things that matter more than anything else at this stage: that the pregnancy is in the uterus, and how far along you are. A small number of pregnancies implant outside the uterus, which is a medical emergency, and dating from your last period can be off by weeks.
After that, you can ask about any of the options and take the information home. Testing for sexually transmitted infections is available at the same visit if you want it.
